You do not need to arrive with a treatment plan. A consultation gives you time to explain what you have been considering, understand the available options and decide whether you want to take anything further.
At LN Medical Aesthetics in Truro, you will meet Lisa Nottage, Registered Nurse and Independent Prescriber. She will review relevant medical information, assess your concerns and explain whether treatment may be appropriate.
Start with what you would like to discuss
It helps to describe the change you have in mind in your own words. For example, you might be interested in the outline of your lips rather than a larger overall volume, or you may want to understand whether a particular concern can be addressed at all.
You can bring reference photographs if they help explain your preferences. They are a starting point for discussion rather than a template for a guaranteed result.
Information to have ready
Bring details of your medicines, relevant health conditions, allergies and any previous aesthetic treatment. If you know the product, date and amount used previously, have that information available too.
Tell Lisa if relevant information has changed since booking. Follow any appointment instructions she gives you. Do not stop prescribed medicines on the basis of a general website guide.
The website and social-media inboxes are not the route for sharing detailed health information. Lisa will explain how to provide clinical information as part of your consultation.
Assessment and treatment planning
Lisa will discuss the concern, assess the relevant area and consider your medical history. The assessment may show that a different approach, more time or no treatment is appropriate.
If treatment is an option, you can discuss the proposed changes, how the procedure would be carried out and what its limitations mean for you. Where clinical photographs are taken, Lisa will explain their purpose. Clinical record photographs should not be assumed to carry permission for website or social-media publication.
Questions worth asking
Use the consultation to clarify anything that affects your decision:
- What change is realistic for me?
- What are the relevant risks and recovery considerations?
- What will the proposed treatment cost?
- What does the review include, and when would further treatment be chargeable?
- How do I contact you if I have a concern afterwards?
You can ask for an explanation again if something is unclear. You do not have to make a decision simply because you have attended the appointment.
You can decide not to proceed
Treatment is optional. You may decide that the potential benefit is not right for you, want more time or prefer to leave things as they are. Lisa may also recommend against treatment following assessment.
Read the booking policy for the practical arrangements relating to deposits and cancellations. The consultation is where suitability is assessed; an appointment booking is not a guarantee of treatment.
What happens next?
If you choose to proceed and treatment is suitable, Lisa will explain the treatment arrangements, consent, cost and aftercare. The timing depends on the treatment and assessment; do not assume that every consultation includes treatment on the same day.
If you are unsure which appointment to book, contact Lisa with a general enquiry first.
