Lip filler and enhancement
Treatment is planned around your natural lip shape, facial proportions and the result discussed during consultation. Dermal filler may be used to add volume, improve definition or adjust shape.
Your appointment begins with a consultation with Lisa Nottage, Registered Nurse and Independent Prescriber. She will assess whether treatment is suitable and explain what may be achievable before you decide whether to proceed.

People consider lip filler for different reasons. You may be interested in a fuller or more voluminous lip appearance, a more defined outline or an adjustment to the balance between the upper and lower lip.
Bring your questions and preferences to the consultation. Lisa will assess the lips themselves and their relationship to the surrounding features, then explain the options and their limitations.
Treatment cannot guarantee perfect symmetry or reproduce somebody else's lips. The aim of assessment is to establish whether the change you have in mind is appropriate and achievable for you.

1 hour 30 minutes
This is the time reserved for your appointment and may include consultation, assessment, clinical photography, consent, treatment and aftercare.
Options and prices
The amount selected, 0.5 ml, 0.7 ml or 1 ml, will depend on your anatomy and agreed treatment plan. Results and recovery vary between clients.

You do not need to arrive knowing which volume to choose. Your starting anatomy, previous treatment and the areas being addressed also matter. A larger volume is not automatically more appropriate.

- Assessment of your lips and explanation of the proposed treatment, limitations and risks
- Confirmation of the amount of filler and total cost before treatment is agreed
- Time to ask questions and decide whether to proceed
- Treatment-specific aftercare and review arrangements if treatment takes place
Treatment is available to adults aged 18 and over, subject to clinical suitability. A consultation does not oblige you to have treatment.

Recovery and risks
Before lip filler is injected, Lisa applies a topical numbing cream. The procedure involves injecting filler into the lips using a syringe and needle. The filler Lisa uses also contains lidocaine to help with numbing. Temporary discomfort and tenderness, as well as swelling and bruising, can occur. The appearance just after treatment may differ from the settled result, which is usually seen around two weeks after treatment. Recovery varies, so discuss any forthcoming events with Lisa before booking.
Possible complications include infection, lumps, an uneven result and inflammatory reactions. An uncommon but serious complication is blockage of a blood vessel, also known as a vascular occlusion, which can damage tissue. Lisa will explain the relevant risks and what to do if you have a concern.

Reviews and further treatment
A two-week review can be arranged to assess the result. Additional filler is not included. If further treatment is clinically appropriate and you wish to proceed, the additional product will be chargeable.

Common questions
Questions before booking
Do I need to choose a volume before the appointment?
No. You can discuss your preferences with Lisa and agree a suitable amount following assessment. The volume options help explain the available prices; they do not replace a treatment plan.
Can I discuss treatment without committing to it?
Yes. A consultation is an opportunity to understand your options and ask questions. There is no obligation to proceed. See the booking policy for deposit and cancellation arrangements.
Can lip filler look subtle?
Subtle changes can be discussed, but the appearance depends on your anatomy, the proposed treatment and how your lips respond. Explain the change you are hoping for so Lisa can assess what is realistic.
Will it hurt?
Injections can cause discomfort. Lisa will explain how treatment is carried out and the comfort measures appropriate to the product and treatment plan. Experiences vary.
Should I book just before an event?
Allow time to discuss recovery before choosing a date. Swelling and bruising can affect your appearance after treatment, and the appearance just after treatment should not be treated as the final result. The settled result is usually seen around two weeks after treatment.
Is additional filler included at the review?
No. A review assesses the result. Further filler, if appropriate and requested, is chargeable.
